does a ssd need a anti-shock protection software?

i am using windows xp and under system configuration utility in the services tab it says ThinkPad HDD APS Logging Service. i googled that and it said it was a anti-shock protection software for your hard drive. do i need this service if i have a solid-state drive.

No:
SSDs have no moving parts, no flying heads or rotating platters to fail during extreme physical situations.
