Are abec 3 bearings good for a longboard?
going to buy my first longboard from original longboards and i have a choice of Abec 3(speed lubed) bearings bones red bearings bones super red bearings or bones swiss bearings which one should i get
Abec rating doesn’t mean a thing for skateboards. Bearings are bearings, as long as they’re clean and lubed (and not made of plastic or anything like that), there will be no difference in speed from one bearing to another.
I’d go for the Bones Reds. The Abec 3′s are a pain in the ass to clean (metal shields with C rings that tend to fly everywhere and get lost when you pop them out of the bearing).
