Bicycle Cycling

Bicycle Cycling
Is the following bicycle manouvere legal in the UK, or could I get busted for it?

Recently I have taken to:

At a red light at an empty pelican crossing, to dismount from my bike before the white line at approxmately 13-15mph and to continue forward, running while pushing my bike, then, several metres after the pelican crossing, to re-mount my bicycle at speed and cycle off.

Yes, it’s illegal for cyclists to commit these acts and it’s also extremely dangerous.

If your caught by a Police Officer you can be given a £30 fixed penalty fine. Failing to stop for an officer is also an arrestable offence.

Some CCTV cities will be issuing fines for parking and traffic offences using video footage from 31 Mar 2008.
