Bicycle Part

Bicycle Part
which part of my bicycle would be best to install my front basket?

http://www.specialized.com/OA_MEDIA/2009/bikes/8290-35_EL_GLB_26_W_1_Carmel_blk_d.jpg

i have this bike above.
its a specialized carmel.
and the guy at the bike store installed the basket in between the handles, but i think its a bit too high and should be a bit lower.
am i right or is that the right position?
thanks.

ps. how should i brake properly without jolting forward too much? whenever i brake people say i do it too suddenly.

Most front baskets on this type of ladies bike have straps that fit round the handlebars and the head tube of the frame. They do tend to sit quite high as that is how most ladies like them, if the bike is new you will soon get used to the height of the basket.

As to braking; do not grab on the brakes at the last minute, apply them very gradually much the same as you do with a car. Apply the back brake more firmly than the front brake and you will have no danger of going over the handlebars. Hope that helps.
