Bike Short
Short motorcycle passenger having problems mounting the bike?

I am a 5’1″ women as a passenger on a Yamaha Venture Royale 1300cc. I am short, heavy, not flexible, and the bike is large and heavy.

Can anyone help with a technique on how to mount the bike without putting too much weight or discomfort for the driver?

The driver is 5’9″ and has trouble, himself, with the weight of the bike and also my weight. any other suggestions?

The easiest way is to get on the bike first, while it is on the side-stand. You can do it as though getting on a horse: Grab the handlebars (I know, horses don’t have those) and hold the front brake. Put your left foot on the left rider (not passenger) peg, swing your right leg over to the right rider peg, and settle into the rider’s seat. Then move back to the passenger seat. Once there, the rider can get on-board.

EDIT; A company called Bates (possible the one that makes Bates leathers) used to make a product called a “Ride-off Stand”. As the name suggests, it was a centre-stand that you could literally simply ride off. I don’t know whether the company or the product still exist. Other than that, or some similar product, I can only suggest a lower bike, such as a cruiser. The Venture IS a tall one!
