How come my bike’s tyre doesn’t pump when I try to pump it?
Ok i really need help. I have a dunlop bike. The tyre is flat and I really want to pump it. i use a single hand pumper. My dad attached it to the tyre and he did it and he said that nothing was getting air. He checked and he said he can’t do anything about it. How can I make it pump? would it be the tube? I don’t know if it is i haven’t done it in ages. PLEASE HELP ME!
There are two types of tubes, Presta and Shraeder. The Presta is thin and has a small metal part on top that sticks out. That is the valve actuator or button. To get air in, you have to unscrew it a little ways and the pump will push the button in, opening the valve to let the air in. The Shreader valve is the bigger one. If you use slime in the tube, it will dry out and clog up the valve.
The best thing to do is to buy a new tube. Super cheap fix. Read the side of the tire, it should say something like 26×1.75. Buy a tube similar in size. The important number is the 26 or 24 or whatever it is. That is how big it is around. The other number is how thick or fat it is. If a tube has been flat long enough, it will crack and have tons of leaks.
