hey, iv got a lilly tattoo on my leg, the lilly is about the size of the bottom of a pint glass!!!! it not all that big, the colour is blue and pink with shads of black.. it also has a small black pattern at the top and bottem of it. i no it would be hard to say without seeing it, but just a general idea how much would i be looking at for laser treatment!! thank you
Hey there. I’m in the process of getting one of my tattoos removed right now via laser. I’ve had 4 treatments so far and I’m paying $150 per treatment (I’m in Florida). Mine is about the same size as you describe yours. I’m also starting to get another tattoo removed at the end of the month.
Another person said that you shouldn’t do it because its burning your skin and you’ll end up with a burn mark and thats not true. IF you have anything left at all, it will be a faint spot where your tattoo used to be. It will hardly even be noticeable. But probably you won’t have anything left. This is because tattoos are meant to be permanent, so they are obviously hard to remove.
Also, be really careful who you choose to go to. Some places are out for the “hard sell” and they will try to get you to make a decision right away. Any reputable company will let you think about it because tattoo removal is not a decision to take lightly. It is a lot of money and after my very first treatment, my tattoo looked horribly faded. There is no going back once you start.
When I started:
And, thats my sholder not my butt…even though it looks like it!
After the first treatment:
As for your colors, those colors that are closer to your actually skin color are the hardest to remove. Such colors would be yellow, brown, pink, red, white. I’ve found from personal experience that black is the quickest to come out. After 4 treatments, the black in my tattoo is almost gone. Unfortunately, I don’t have a current picture.
Here are somethings that I suggest. If you have a bad feeling at all about the place you are at, leave. Do not allow yourself to be “sold” a package. The most reputable places will allow you to pay by the treatment. For example, the place I’m going to lets me pay $150 per treatment but if I have more than 5 treatments, I don’t have to pay anymore. Finally, try to find a doctor who does the removals instead of just some clinic.
Good luck!
Also – painwise, its not that bad. Get some numbing gel to put on about an hour before you get a treatment. It feels like getting popped with a rubber band but its not as bad if it’s numbed up. Afterwards, it feels like a sunburn, but the feeling goes away in a couple of hours.
