I am looking for a recurve bow that you can easily remove the limbs and store in a pvc type case.?
I have looked on line but I think I am using the wrong key words. It seems they call any bow that the string is removed a “take down bow”. I have used a compound deer and elk hunting for years. I would like a simple bow that folds up to about the length of my arrows. 28.5” also at least 45# Something I can keep in my backpack when hound hunting here in Oregon. I have wished I had a bow at many trees but not wanted to carry one on the crawl in. Any advice from people who have used these bows or know where to find a good one…..
Have a look at the Martin Hatfield, the Reflex Nomad, the Tradtech bows(this one is interesting as it’s a traditional bow that uses ILF limbs), Hoyt Gamemaster.
With most of these hunting take down recurves, the limbs must be secured with an allen wrench. Making assembly/disassembly rather time consuming. With the Tradtech bows, the limbs simply snaps in place, this is the same technology used by Olympic style recurves. Tradtech even makes ILF longbow limbs.
