What can I use to safely clean my white cork handlebar tape?
I purchased a new road bike that came with white cork handlebar tape. The tape gets dirty very fast. I have been using dish washing liquid and water to clean it but the tape still has dirt. A fellow cyclist told me to use rubbing alcohol but does not work. What can I use to safely clean the white tape and get it looking like new again? Thank you in advance for your answers.

Well, I had white tape…. I got very good at taping! I really never found anything that cleaned the tape well. More important, I found, is the type of tape you use. If you use vinyl tape, it will clean fairly well. But it is useless as a handlebar covering to soak up any energy. So I used two layers of tape…. that worked!
Then I just got over it and switched to blue / black tape. Life is wonderful with colored tape.
