higher watt bulb in a battery Coleman lantern ?
Coleman 8D Square Pack-Away Lantern- I bought one and rated at 390 lumens it does seem to put out pretty decent light. I have a 230 lumen flashlight from cree and this seems like it might meet the 390 test but… it runs a 15 watt spiral florescent bulb. What I am wondering is if anyone has tried or what they think about putting a higher wattage bulb in it such as maybe a 20 or 25 watt bulb? Would this just cut down the hours on run time ?
Does the bulb run directly off of 12V?
If so, probably the only side effect will be a decrease in battery life.
If the bulb does not run on 12V, you will probably damage the circuitry if run for a long period of time.
