Deer Hunter
What is the best gun to use for a first time deer hunter?

and can you route me to a website to buy the gun you recommend?

There’s no single answer for that. Ask others in your area what you should expect. If your hunting is exclusively in close cover, the rifle you want will be considerably different from the one you’d choose for open areas, and mixed topography calls for a compromise. Also, we don’t know anything about you. Factory rifles come with standard dimensions, obviously, but vary from one make to another, and if you’re five feet tall, I’d recommend something different from what I’d recommend if you’re 5’10″, unless you want to bother with a custom stock. And if you’re left-handed, that’ll restrict your choices somewhat.
After considering the type hunting you’re likely to do, if you decide on a bolt action (most popular these days), I’d suggest you stick to the middle range of deer calibers. You can be quite successful with miniatures chambered for something like 243 Winchester, and many, many people use needlessly large calibers like 30-06. Until you know differently, though, I’d suggest something in between. That might be 6.5×55 Swedish Mauser, 260 Remington, 7mm08, or 7×57 Mauser, to name just a few.
If this sounds long-winded, I apologize, but you really need to make a studied choice. Even then, you’ll second-guess yourself. I look on that as a good excuse to buy more deer rifles!
