Dyneema Fishing

Dyneema Fishing
Going beach fishing and need some advice for my tackle that il be using..!?

yoo

just going on holidays at coffs harbour then noosa – so going to do some beach fishing there

just want some advice to the tackle that i have:

i have a 9′ shimano GST 6-8kg line weight rod
with a 9000 pelagic 10BB surf Reel
i recently purchase 10lb braid dyneema line ( not sure if this is enough or not )

just wondering if my tackle is alright for beach fishing – and also – if i hit a fish over the 10 pound barrier – will the line snap or what would be the result…

thankss

The line shouldnt snap if the drag on your reel is set properly. When a fish hits the drag lets line out so a heavy fish wont break line. Slowly tighten the drag as the fish becomes tired.

You didnt say what you were going for or what kind of rig you wanted to use but if you are fishing with bait and need a sinker (weight) be sure to pick up the surf sinkers, they look like pyramids. This is designed to prevent the sinker from rolling around in the current and surf. The pyramid design actually catches the sand and stays a lot better than the regular egg sinkers.
