How do i restore my computer to factory settings?
I want to restore this laptop i bought from a friend completely to factory settings. how do i do that? do i do it in safe mode? if yes how do i do that? please i’m a real computer noob/major novice so could you give me step by step instructions? i’m using windows vista. i know how to do that thing when you start up your computer and press F10 and it goes blank and then to this weird screen but i have no idea what to do next to restore it. again i want to restore it COMPPLETELY back to factory settings. like it was as soon as he bought it
You have to restart it, then hit one of the F? keys. I don’t know which one, because you did not tell us what brand and model the laptop is.
The procedure is called “System Recovery”. It will reinstall the original factory Windows on your computer from a safe partition of the hard drive where it is stored. Everything on the hard drive will be wiped off, and all the factory original programs will be reinstalled. That, I believe, is what your intending to do.
