Human faces speak much

Human faces speak much

The face has a lot to say about a person. No person can be given a name without a face. No face, no identity. Certain institutional identification requirements do not ask for full length photographs but what is generally called “passport” size photograph – Just the head, the front part of which is the face.

Very ingeniously, the creator of the human body placed the sense -organs on the human face. There one finds the eyes, the nose, the mouth and the ears. The shape of the face, the harmonious molding of these organs can determine to a very large extent how good or bad looking a person is.

What makes one face beautiful, I ask? I have seen all kinds of faces: round, chubby, moon-shaped face; I have seen bony faces; I have seen oval shaped faces, even square shaped faces. Every face, its owner. Although every individual has special face features that make him or her different, there are also tribal or nationalistic features that distinguish an African from a Chinese or an American.

The African is characterized by thick lips; flat nose etc and the Chinese cannot hide his or her “slanting” eyes! The human face has so much to say without words about a person. Even though the mind is invisible it can express itself on the face. One can tell the state of the mind by looking at the face: A happy face, an angry face, a frustrated face, a fearsome, awful looking face- all express the state of the mind.

The face never remains the same. It keeps on changing from infancy to old age. All that happens to a person in the course of life affects the condition of the face: stress, anxieties, disappointment, illnesses, environment, changing weather patterns, the food one eats, even the words we speak all affect the face.Your face is your treasure and must be kept well. It speaks about you. Observing faces is a good pastime for me.  Some faces I see never leave my mind. Every single face sends me a message: << can you see me? Do you know who I am behind this mask of a face? >>

What great questions? The face is just like a mask hiding the real being acting behind the mask of the face. When a person is known for a long time the face no longer seems to matter. It is the being behind the face showing its true colors that matters. The being hiding behind the face is known by its words and deeds. If these are negative, they tend to break relationships, and turn friends into enemies. If positive the better the relationship.

Oftentimes, the way we see ourselves is not the same as others see us. What others see of us beyond the face is what we truly are. We do not know all about ourselves, the invisible aspect of us.

When not very conscious of ourselves, the invisible behind the face can lead us; direct us into doing things we wouldn’t like to do. This explains why we feel sorry, regret about certain things we do. Although beautiful faces attract me much, I have learnt not to be deceived by such faces. Appearances are very deceptive; and still waters can run very deep – so the sayings go.

It is not enough to judge people by their faces. There is more beyond. Whatever the circumstances, in whatever way we see the face, I still have a message to give.

Cultivate and maintain a smiling face. A smiling face reflects good thoughts; a smiling face invites others to smile back; a smiling face keeps back wrinkles and above all promotes good appearance. Keep on smiling.
