The main reason that the Surly Steamroller is so well liked is because it is put together with care and expertise, durable, and offers a smooth fast ride. And for the cost , it’s hard not to conclude you’re getting one of the sales of the century. We are happy to maintain that it’s as good an urban trawler as you will find. It handles well and has a springy quality when you ride it. You’ll find yourself flying up hill and down dale (as my English Grandma used to say).
Many people have complained about the seat, and in the interest of putting both sides of the coin we’ve got to say that it’s not the most comfortable! But hey, if you’re not happy with the Surly seat, change it for another. You’ll find that the Surly Steamroller is very flexible and versatile. You can set up in different ways: a cross, a commuter, a rain bike, or as a track bike. I just love looking at this bike too.
