Could you fight some those where? In an organized. sanctioned MMA match? No; they don’t have enough padding and are strictly for the convenience of training and going from bag work to grappling and rolling without sparring or without sparring with heavy contact like what you have in an actual fight. Can you take them to some back yard thing and fight with them? Sure but that is one of the things wrong with those type of things and what many people don’t understand or realize. There are standards of safety that are imposed by the state athletic commissions, one of them being a MMA fight glove having so many ounces of padding to prevent people from getting their brains scrambled and getting concussions and maybe ending up like a vegetable now or later down the road.
Now you may think that is alright but if you are fighting and using those gloves in some backyard thing what are you going to do when the other guy comes in with a pair of leather winter gloves with no padding at all? Training gloves are just that-for training not for fighting.
