how to make a laser diode driver for a green laser?
I’ve been building a laser and need help making a driver for the laser diode (green). I haven’t seen any videos about how to make a diode driver for green diodes. So let me know if u find one or its the same for a diodes
Any type of constant-current driver is suitable for driving a laser diode, but only as long as the current and ripple are within the diode specifications. Depending on the power of the laser diode you have and what you intend to do with it, the two primary choices for drivers are linear unregulated and actively regulated switch mode drivers.
Linear drivers are suitable for low power applications due to their low efficiency but they are very easy to make.
Switch-mode drivers (they go by many names) use PWM dc-dc conversion principles and operate at much higher efficiencies than linear drivers and are a must when using high power diodes, however they can be quite difficult to design effectively since they are much more sensitive.
