How do you get a horse to stop if it isnt wearing a bridle or halter?
Voice commands and/or your seat. The way getting a horse to stop was described to me like this: pretend you are holding in a fart or a million dollar bill between your butt cheeks- you sit deeper, squeeze your abs and your butt-stop moving with the horse, and the horse will stop.
It works well in an english saddle, but is harder in a western saddle, I think because of the contact/saddle shape.
