Hooks Green
why do you get green spots on your tv?

We have an ILO 42″ tv we bought from Walmart. It’s great so far, but, every now and then, we’ll get green spots on the tv. I always heard that green spots are caused from the magnetic fields in other appliances (stereos, etc). We do have a surround sound hooked up to it, but the woofer is on the ground and can’t be the reason behind it. Any other ideas?

The first two answers are assuming the set has a picture tube. Since it’s a 42″ and no one makes a 42″ CRT set, then we have to assume it’s either a plasma or an LCD. Since ILO makes 42″ plasmas, we can assume it’s a plasma. LibertyBell is right on the money… magnetic fields don’t affect plasma sets. It sounds to me like a digital problem of some sort. Lots of things can cause this, so it’s going to be a trial and error for whoever attempts the repair. Good luck.
