How to figure out your size for a hunt coat?
I’ve always been wondering this..? I’ve gone to local tack stores and tried some on but they were all too big? I want to try and get one from ebay…But what size should I try?(: In shirts I’m usually size small, sometimes medium….
No no no no no no no not Ebay.
The cut of a hunt coat greatly affects its fit. The sizes aren’t universally the same from manufacturer to manufacturer, or even from style to style within the same manufacturer’s line. Unless you plan on having a coat tailored, buying on Ebay is probably not going to work out very well. You really, really need to be able to try the coat on and see how it looks and how you feel in it.
My advice: if your local tack stores don’t have what fits you and you like, do an Internet search for someplace in a nearby area, where you might have to drive an hour or so to get to, and find a mega-equine-apparel store, someplace that carries more hunt coats than an average tack store does, and make a special trip there.
Don’t get me wrong, I love eBay for a lot of different things, but finding the right hunt coat involves trying it on.
