Mavic D521 wheels…Do they need inner tubes or can I use tape?
I have recently had my bike back off a friend (in pieces)….I am intending on fiddling with it myself.
I dont know much about bikes and Im not sure about a few things (please see other questions)
Ok, my rear wheels seems to have tape inside but it is coming off, the front has none. I was just going to buy cheap inner tubes but I want to do it properly so what should I do?
Unless you buy proper tubular tyres you will need both inner tubes and rim tape. You should be able to get two perfectly decent tubes and tape for about £10, so it’s no big deal. If you put the tubes in without tape you risk getting punctures from the ends of the spokes where they fit into the rims.
