Lamp Flashlight

Lamp Flashlight
If I leave a flashlight in my glove box, is it okay to leave the batteries in it?

I bought a camping head lamp (think flashlight on a headband) because everytime I have needed a flashlight on the road, I’ve also needed both hands ;)

So any how, I seem to recall my father saying its not good to store a flashlight when it will be exposed to extremes in temperature (such as in a car year round) because it causes the batteries to corrode…I

Is that true?
Should I just store them seperately?
I’d rather not, because my glove box is rather jammed in the first place and they are likely to get lost.

Let me know what you think

Thanks
Tink

Psst – yes, I know, its not much of a mechanical question, but I find folks who know about cars tend to know about this sort of thing as well. ;)

It is not good to store batteries in the flashlight, they will corrode over time.
