can a simple lamp or LED ripen fruit ?
can a simple lamp or LED ripen fruit ?? if so, i am doing a project where the light from a lamp would shine into a fruit bowl to help ripen the fruit.
Would this work ?? And any suggestions ??
If the fruit is already picked from the plant, no, light won’t effect its ripening or decaying (Maybe the heat from this light if there is any would promote decay).
Only when a fruit is still attached to a plant will an artificial light source (Lamp) make a difference. The light is measured in Lumens, and the more lumens, the better the light. I’m not sure of a single LED’s Lumens, but I know it wouldn’t be enough to even help a plant grow.
A Standard household 60 watt light bulb will produce 240 lumens on average. Indoor gardeners try to produce 2,000 lumens per square foot of garden for best yield, by using special HID (High Intensity Discharge)grow lights.
