The London weather has cooled, the days are getting shorter and an additional whirlwind of international fashion shows has swept the world’s style and fashion capitals, from fashion forward New York to glamorous London. Of course, Winter is absolutely here, and as usual, we have our fingers on the proverbial pulse of designer fashion’s thumping diamond encrusted heart. With our choice of UK and global designers ranging from the terrific iconic designer fashion houses (Lanvin, Balenciaga) to the edgiest names (Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney) to the trend setting ones to keep an eye on (Christopher Kane, Erdem), it’s no wonder fashion’s elite usually tell admirers that they don’t shop designer clothes anywhere other than Matches!
This Autumn season fashion is boldly tailored, and we’re forever in love with some of autumn’s awesome statement-making trends. Christopher Kane’s fiercely cool animal printed tops have been purchased by the fashion pack, gracing front rows and the hottest fashion pages of websites alike. They are the best partner to another key catwalk trend at the moment – leggings – that’s right, this is the season to flash those legs, and Freda, Sykes and of course Les Chiffoniers have all manufactured some mega-sleek, beautiful pairs. For the more adventurous, there are thigh-high boots – these thigh high boots are the absolute look of the season; fashion queen Stella McCartney’s version are black, dramatic and utterly show-stopping. These bold black leather boots look set to stay around, and we couldn’t be happier; they are a magnificent way to give even the most toned down outfit a twinkling hit of on-trend glamour.
So, this is surely the best time to put your shoulders forward! Bulky, padded shoulders are making an enormous comeback – wonderfully wearable, this is an awfully flattering trend this time around, and we are in love with Julien McDonald’s strikingly incredible sharp-shouldered dresses.
