saltwater lure fishing in San Diego???
What are some good spots to use lures/crankbaits, for on shore saltwater fishing in San Diego County.
the launch ramp on shelter islands rock jetty is shaped like a seven right on the corner on incoming tides cast out (almost parallel) but toward the middle (toward north island) and you will slam spotties all along there also on the out going tide in the middle of the (top of the seven there) cast out no more than thirty feet and hang on… your bait will roll off a drop off and at the bottom big things hit it…. in january halibut stack there I have had three legals there in ten years all in january and I have caught sharks on chovies there in October too but the area used to be a spotted bay bass mecca. I like fishing for halibut off the OB pier too and red shad worms in mission bay are a spotted bay bass magnet. good luck
