Maglite flashlight bulbs?
I have a 3D cell Maglite with the standard bulb in it (22,000 candlepower White Star lamp).
I want to upgrade to the recommended – Xenon Mag-num Star Lamp.
They recommend the usual LMSA301 for the 3D cell and up to the 30,000 candlepower LMSA601 for the 6D cell
The bulbs have the same head diameter so if I put a bulb made for the 6D in my 3D Maglite, will it be brighter than if I went with the 3D bulb?
Thanks
Flashlight
The 301 is made to operate on 4.5v.
The 601 is made to operate on 9v.
If you try to operate a 601 on only 4.5v, you’ll probably get less than half the brightness out of it.
Conversely, if you stick a 301 into a 6D flashlight, it will work VERY brightly for a few minutes and then probably burn out.
