Mtb Pedals

Mtb Pedals
Will road bike shoes will fit my Time ATAC pedals? How do i know what kind of MTB shoes are compatible?

I am a total biking noob so not sure exactly what i want so i bought a cyclocross bike. I bought new Time ATAC clipless pedals for it as that is the upgrade that seemed to be most needed and recommended. I plan on riding it as a road bike but also would be interested in cyclocross racing when it gets cold so i will be training for that this summer as well. So the question is…
1. can i use road bike shoes with the Time pedals or do i need to buy separate road bike pedals? How do i know which will work?
2. how do i know what MTB shoes will work with my new pedals? B/C if i cant get road shoes i atleast want some very low profile MTB shoes but i dont know how to tell what to get or will work with them.
3. any recommendations out there for shoes?

Thanks!!!

Here is your problem, most mountain bike shoes use a two bolt/fasteners to attach the cleat, road shoes normally use a three bolt pattern. You don’t have to have road shoes for riding the road unless you ride with a bunch of roadie snobs. Being you plan on doing some cyclocross racing keep the mtb shoes and don’t waste your money on road shoes.
