Old Vintage
Should I buy a lomography camera or an old vintage 35mm camera?

Also which should I buy? I’m looking to spend as little as possible but I’m a beginner so need something with not too difficult settings, I appreciate this is a tall order!

The request for “something with not too difficult settings” gives you a 35mm point and shoot. (I’m going to dismiss the “lomography camera” nonsense for what it is – nonsense.)

It sounds as though you’re not truly interested in learning photography as a whole. This is too bad, because if you get a 35mm SLR with those “too difficult settings” and learn about them, you can make some truly outstanding images.

That being said, I recommend Nikon’s FM and FM2 35mm cameras, as I’m familiar with the brand (Canon also made comparable models). These can be found online, such as via eBay and Craigslist, local camera shops, and other outlets such as garage sales and newspaper classifieds.
