Massachusetts pickerel, pike, bass flies?
I live in mass so theres not too many trout but all i have are trout flies. What are some good flies for other fish like pickerel pike and bass. Preferably flies i can buy at places like dicks or natick outdoor store but if you dont know thats fine.Thanks

Pike and bass flies tend to be bigger and heavier than trout flies, so you may need a different rod, Like 8wt or 9wt. There are so many flies designed for this type of fly fishing that we could be here a while. Try entering fly fishing or fly tieing in your search engine and go from there. I like hair bugs and poppers for bass surface fishing. They work for pike too but pike teeth tear them up. Pencil poppers made with foam last longer for pike. For wet flies streamers and Clouser minnows, big wooly bugs etc. for bass. For pike I like streamer type flies made of rabbit fur strips. I’m sure Dick’s would have some of this stuff. Fly fishing for pike takes sturdier tackle and leaders than for bass.
