how much “denier” do i want?

thanks :)

Denier is the amount of toughness the material has. Kind of like a bulletproof vest. My horses are very tough on their clothing, and anything less than 1000 denier just gets ripped in a few weeks.

I have a 1200 denier sheet (no fiberfill) that is quite tough and warm, and a 1000 denier midweight blanket that are both 5 years old, look like new, and are still water repellent. I take them to the laundromat once a month and wash with Tide, and they seem to do well. I got them at http://sstack.com and although they cost a bit to begin with, you have to admit that planning for the 6th year of use brings the price down quite a bit!

The folks there are really nice, and if you call the toll free number, they will help you choose the right denier and polyfill.
