Does my bike have a schrader or presta valve?
It’s a low end touring bike from around 1999. Does that mean it’s more likely to be one than the other? Is it easy to tell on sight? I just want to buy the right pump for the tires. Thanks!

Yes, very easy to tell at sight. If it looks like your car tires valve…. it is a schrader. If it is long and thin with a little knob at the top…. it is a presta. When you go to the bike shop have them show you how the presta works.
BUT they are not interchangeable!
