how about this set up for catfish?
I’m going after James river blues does this sound like a solid set up that should last a while? If it does then I’m gonna get two of em since they’re only $140 each (I’m used to buying g-loomis haha)

65# power pro braid (15 mono equivilent)
2 ounce slip sinker with a big ol’ shad head on a octopus hook
any cheaper braid out there?
It sounds good to me. I use a 5500c3 on a 7′catfish rod and it works well and will handle the big fish. The 5500 is a little smaller reel and cost a little less if you are interested.
