I purchased some pork from Wal-mart at it was very chewy and very salty. I purchased it again weeks later, because I forgot, and same thing. I purchased a beef roast, same — chewy and salty! It’s like they’ve injected the meat with rubber or gum!
Yes, Wal-Mart meat is treated with a solution to “enhance” moistness and to tenderize. If you look at the packaging very closely, it states that chemicals used.
This is known as pumping.
