How do I mount a scope on my gun that doesn’t have a scope mount?
Its a really old .22 that was my grandpa’s or great grandpa’s.
It is a bolt-action.
But there arent any grooves on it for a scope seeing as that is a more modern thing.
I’ve heard of some kind of ring that goes around the barrel or something.
I dont know exactly how to go about this. But its a great gun and I couldn’t stand harming this gun.
On older guns, you need to take the rifle to a gunsmith, who can drill and tap the receiver to accept a scope mount. Once this is done, scope mounting should be an easy job for him. I’d let him mount the scope because finding the proper scope mount bases might be difficult on an older gun.
