Tools In Ancient Roman Times

Ancient Rome is without a doubt one of the most famous civilizations in the world having created attractions and inventions such as the architectural masterpiece known as the Coliseum. Knives were composed of either bronze or iron and fulfilled a number of different roles. First of all they could be used for cutting bread, and they could of course be used in medical procedures so long as they were sterilized properly. Finally, they could become effective weapons in battle if one so desired. These knives were of sturdy design and were cable of being multi-purpose.

Roman Stylus

The stylus is an old style Roman tool that resembled a nail more than anything else. A stylus however was used to write words into a wax tablet that would later be hardened. This was a great way, at least at the time, to keep records of the day to day activities. Not all of the tablets were lost in time, in fact some were well preserve in various museums.

These were multipurpose tools and they found homes in fishing, weaponry, fishing, and even surgery. Hooks were made from bronze or steel and as a result they could be put to virtually any task.
