My primary DVD burner is not working, any way to disconnect it?
It sounds like the cd is stuck inside. It tries to open and goes in again, and this repeats every single time. I got so fed up because I can’t use it. So I bought a external DVD burner, which is working fine. But that disk inside is still going in and out, about half inch, so I can’t really grab it and pull it. So, is there any way that I can disconnect my primary DVD drive without harming the computer?
Unplug unit.
Press Power button
Open side panel.
Unplug the power connector to the Drive.
Unplug the SATA or ribbon cable to the same drive.
Replace side panel.
Straighten a paperclip.
On the front Bezel of the DRive is a hole.
Put Paperclip in stright and push the drawer open.
Get CD.
Push drawer closed.
Plug in unit.
Press power.
