Unsettled 10week old Baby?
My daughter is 10.5 weeks old. Our bedtime routine is:
4.30pm – 5.30pm: walk in the pram
5.30pm: top ‘n’ tail and massage
6.00pm – 7.00pm: breastfeed
The trouble is 7pm comes and she won’t sleep until 9.30 – 10.30pm (her next feed). She is swaddled and put into bed, and at best, will sleep for 40 – 45 minutes (1 sleep cycle) and wakes up. I’ve tried giving her a top up feed around 8.00pm but she throws herself backwards and won’t take it until 9.00pm – 9.30pm. We tried rocking in her cradle, picking her up, carrying her and “ssh sshing”, i tried burping her, we change her nappy. Its spring/summer and all she wears to bed is her nappy, singlet, short leg/sleeve bodysuit, muslim wrap. And we only put a cotton sheet on top of her, and we also tried adding/subtracting a celluar blanket.
What else could it be? Im starting to think that for this feed maybe my milk my not be filling her? Should i try substitutiing this feed with formula or just let her have her awake time?
The only coz of all this is your anxiety of making a proper rountine with her which is immpossible with such young babies Thats why they r called babies dear First dont panic and try everything just to make her sleep We adults also have our ups and downs in sleeping pattern and then she is a tiny one all adjusting with her life outside world before she was secured and undistured not interrupted inside youe womb,but now u r trying to attack her freedom let her take own time with feeding, playing,sleeping unless she is not at all sleeping or having her feed she is absolutlely fine dont try to put her in specific rountine just take it ease play with her ,caress her make her feel secured Dont worry about her feed if she needs it she diffinitely will convey u by crying or any gesture she can I hope u got me what I Am trying to make u understand I am mother of 2 so just try what i said make and change your routine according to her not her’s This is the time for baby not for ourselves
