Soft Rubber

Soft Rubber
My dog ate 1/3 of a soft rubber ball and when I wanted to play with her 10 minutes later she wasn’t herself!!!

My dog is an 8 month old pomeranian and I caught her chewing on a rubber ball, it’s soft but not squishy, softer than a stress ball. . .

I saw some bits of the ball in her cage and I don’t know if she’s going to be okay. She ate/chewed less than half the ball. . .

Will she poop it out? Or do I need to call the vet? Is this serious?? Please help, I’m a first time dog owner and I don’t know what to do! When I play with her she usually licks me and is all jumpy and playfull, but after I saw her chewing the ball and took her out of her cage she doesn’t seem the same.

Depending on the size of what she ate, she could pass it over the next week or so in her stool.

If she swallowed a BIG piece, it may cause blockage and can be life threatening to your dog.

My dog ate a phone cord – I have no idea how MUCH she ate, or how well she CHEWED it.

I took her straight to the Emergency Vet and had her X-rayed.

That’s the LEAST you can do. If the x-ray shows it’s passing through with ease, no surgery is needed. Only your Vet can tell you that.

I recommend going to your Vet and having an x-ray done.
