can you put a single speed chain on a mtb?
ok so i found this chain and i like it. only problem is that it is ment for single speed.

so can i just put like 2 additional links to make it compatible to a mtb? 9speed?
This chain is 1/2 inch x 1/8.
Multispeed chains are 1/2 x 3/32.
These are inside link measurements. While it is possible to use a 10 speed chain on a 6 speed. You cannot use a six speed chain on a ten speed. (the outside dimension is wider).
You will need a 1/2 x 3/32 chain for either a nine or ten speed. For your nine speed. I’d go for the nine speed it will wear longer.
You could covert your bike to a single speed and use the 1/2 x 1/8 chain if you were really keen. But a nine (or ten speed) chain is probably the more sensible option
