How do twin rotor helicopters work?
They have no tail rotor. Do the two main rotors go in the same direction or in opposite directions.?
I plan to make a twin rotor helicopter and want it to be stable in flight.
Contra-rotating helicopters are complex they have very intricate driveshafts, gear boxes, and stability systems if you wanna find out more about them take a look at the KA-60 black shark but I know that in RC helos there is two motors the spin in opposite directions and drive separate cogs which have the drive shafts attached on fits inside the other as one spins one way the other spins the other way with enough force to equalize the torque therefore not requiring the use of a tail rotor but on the top rotor usually there is a balance bar attach that keeps the blades level and the helo stable
